Quality Award



Evergreen Valley Nursing Home has been acknowledged as a recipient of the AHCA Quality Award at the step one level in 1997. The American Health Care Association (AHCA) Quality Award is a "program that is designed to enhance quality awareness and create educational opportunities for [health care] providers to learn about successful strategies for improving resident care and customer satisfaction." (Provider, November 1996, p.81). The criteria are adopted from the prestigious Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. The criteria have been established primarily to guide organizations toward quality improvement and ultimately to award organizations that have achieved excellence (American Society for Quality Control, 1997).
